Some of them made my day, some showed improvement of an artist that I wanted to give them credit for. And others were simply astonishing me because of their quality and beauty.

It´s the least I can do.

There is one really skilled artist here who is doing commissions. If you are interested, take a look at her journal: [link]

Thank you.

I do this as a reaction to ~Lyne-Chans Journal:

10 Free Sketches

She stole a free sketch tag from :iconaikolein: (and I from :iconlyne-chan: :evillaugh:), but I changed some rules because I can :evillaugh:

:star: Rules :star:
The first 10 people who comment on this journal entry will receive a free sketch!

1. You are proposed to offer 10 free sketches in your own journal. If you've done this in the recent past, just provide proof and that will do.
2. In your comment, include a link to a reference(s) of any character you want me to draw.
3. If you request multiple characters or something complex, I reserve the right to simplify it or to only draw one character.
4. I wont draw hentai, porn, yaoi or somthing like that.

:star: And you can win another free sketch by answering a quiz that I put in the artist´s comment of  [link] :star:

:iconholaplz: Update :iconholaplz:
The first quiz was solved. The famous statue I used as a reference for our all-famous Gaul is the brillant Dying Gaul, a Roman marble copy of a Greek statue originally from the 3rd century BC, build for an altar in Pergamon, now exibited in the Musei Capitolini in Rome.

Now, to help myself getting motivated, I decided to use this blog as a kind of check-list for my most important projects.
The list will show the number of pages drawn or written and the number of pages inked or edited, and the percentage of the already done parts of the projects as well as the parts that are still in planning.

The projects in question are:

:bulletgreen: My Magister Paper :bulletgreen:
Though it´s already written and I passed my exams, I still have to prepare the text for publication.
That means editing the text and catalogue of finds as well as adding new drawings of finds. I have to work out some things with my two professors because they found some faults in the texts I didn´t see.

Status quo:
Of 1972 shards or 1531 ceramical units (vessels) that were found in Mamming, there are several of them I have to draw.
For my exam, I already drew 45 of them. New were done in the last weeks and more to go.
Box nr. 1 :bulletyellow: all 25 with high priority done :bulletyellow:
From box nr. 2, there are 24 done of 31 with high priority.
From box nr. 3, there are 15 done of 47 with high priority.
From box nr. 4, there are 0 done of 46 with high priority.
I haven´t counted the shards of the other five boxes yet so I don´t know completely how many there are to do in total. I can only guess that there must be 20-40 per box :O_o:

:star: NEW :star: I´m moving forward, slowly, but steadily. :star: NEW :star:
Now I have to think about the layout of the images.

Drawings:
:bulletgreen: 110 ceramical units of at least 149 ceramical units (+ an unknown number of ceramical units in the other five boxes)
:bulletgreen: 2 shard tools (probably spindle whorls)
:bulletgreen: 1 stone hatchet
:bulletgreen: 2 silex artefacts
:bulletgreen: 3 bone artefacts

For a shorter publication of my paper in an archaeological journal, I have to shorten the text (from 96 pages of pure text - the catalogue and the drawings not included - to 30-40 pages :faint:). Chapters 1, 2 and 5 have to be almost erased, Chapters 3 and 4 have to be edited because of several minor faults, updated because of newer information I learned about at the congress in Innsbruck and to be shortened, too.
Since my professor wants my paper to be published in book-form, I have to edit the whole text, too. But this will be easier than to decide which parts of the texts to be erased.

This project will consume most of my free time this year, so the other two might suffer from that.

I wonder if maybe I could upload a few drawings I made for my magister paper, just to let you know WHAT exactly I am doing ^^;

All of them are presented in the lifetime of Liel, the prophet with jug and thread, and woven between the main chapters.

:bulletwhite: I am writing down the chronicles of a traveller on Earth, written by one of the minor messengers who lived on Earth from the times of Late Antiquity/Early Byzantian Empire on at least unitl the 21st century. They will be collected in a wonderful book we bought on a christmas market.

In percentage, I would say that around 20-30 % are already finished. That´s a lot of work lying ahead.

:bulletpurple: Third Major Project :bulletpurple:

:bulletblue: My Tales from Talnia :bulletblue:
[link]

[link]
[link]

The world of Talnia has its own calendar. They count years in the Kirai Un ("One Time" or K. U.) for 14 centuries when the main chapters take place.

There are three main plots:
:bulletblue: The Fairy War (6th century K. U.)
The time the jinn were "born". I don´t know whether to draw a comic or to write a novel about it. I´d prefer a comic, though.

:bulletblue: The Great War (between 849-898 K. U.).
There´ll be an illustrated novel about that time, 22 chapters of which are already written, 5 more chapters written in parts, but they all need some editing. The first book contains 219 pages so far. The novel is on hiatus like many other Tales from Talnia stories since 2008.
It is one of the darkest times of the Talnian history, a total contrast to the comics you can see in my gallery.

:bulletblue: The 14th century K. U. (only a few take place earlier, in the 10th, 12th or 13th century)
The stories are somehow loosely connected, but self-contained.
Of the following chapters, only one isn´t finished (actually, only the first page is drawn so far ^^;).

:bulletred: The only incomplete chapter, a short dialogue between the Majin siblings Agua and Ivo Kilerny at the grave of their parents who died during the Great War (917 K. U.)
Done 06/07/2003.

:bulletred: "Fangt den Dieb!" (1367 K. U.)
This was the first Tales from Talnia-comic I´ve ever done, and it took quite a few years to finish. And I guess I have to redo some more pages... ^^;
Drawn from 04/03/2002 to 24/09/2005 (and some reworkings of pages 5, 10, 25, 26, 30, 51 from 09/10/2005 to  24/06/2007.

:bulletred: "Das Wandern ist der Minae Lust!" (1367 K. U.)
This story is at some certain point intertwined with the former "Fangt den Dieb!". Meaning the main characters of each story almost crash into eachother :XD:
I began working at this chapter back in 2002, but it went on hiatus after finishing four pages (done from 23/05/2002 to 08/07/2002) and a cover-page. When I wanted to finish Minaes journey to the Samyakazan – the Fire-Mountains where most demons and the fire-majin Ifleet live – I decided to start all over again from first page on.

Pages: 16
Inked: 1
:bulletred: "Wie ein Engel...", part 3 (1373 K. U.)
Eighth Sensuri & Zana-comic.
Actually the first part of this story. The rest was created afterwards because I wondered why the old woman hired Sensuri in the first place :giggle: It´s often this way with these Tales from Talnia-comics; one story gives birth to another.
Drawn from 17/06/2003 to 16/07/2003.
Pages: 3
Inked: 3
:bulletred: "Wie ein Engel...", part 4 (1373 K. U.)

:bulletred: "Der Wolf geht mit ihm durch!" (1370-1374 or 1400 K. U.)
Drawn 24/08/2007.
Pages: 1
Inked: 0

In total, that makes 330 pages and 32 short stories, 31 of which are finished but only partly inked. Around 21 short and 6 longer stories are in planning, including the "Fairy War" (see at the top of the list) , the "Prelude to the Rago-Empire" and the "Rago-Empire" (see below).

:bulletblue: The prelude to the Rago-Empire (beginning in the second half of the 14th century K. U., part I; continuing in the years around 1400 K. U., part II)
Several scetches are already done.
This storyline is quite dark, too, since there´ll be murder among the Majin (see some information about them here: [link]) and their servants.
There will be more magic than in the other stories of the 14th century K. U. And more action.

:bulletblue: The Rago-Empire (late 3rd millenium K. U.)
Again, I don´t know whether to write or draw this story since it´s desperate and dark. Talnia will be devastated and almost ripped of its magic, leaving to die by a dark emperor (yes, that may sound like the one-billionth Star Wars-clone, but I hope I will find a way to avoid the usual plot clichés). Let´s see...

Sadly, the Tales from Talnia are on Hiatus for four years now and that won´t change in a while. But I don´t say that there won´t be a new Tale from the magic world of Talnia ;)

The first month of the mini-job at the excavation is over and I´ve worked 39 instead of 22 hours this month. 12 of those long hours will be paid at the end of month two. That plus the 14 hours I really worked in April so far, plus 3 more hours for a guided tour I lead at wednesday next week and the finishing of a drawing (of a level with a wall, a so called PLANUM in german) will be at least 29 hours in April which makes 7 more long hours -.- -.- -.-
Maybe I should try to work less next month or my boss will be poor at the end of the year :evillaugh: Yeah, right! And I am Jesus. :evillaugh:
