This is for s weekly contest, where we have to redesign his Saint Fighters, a little bit like Marvel Comics redesigned its superheroes by creating "Ultimate Marvel"

I made them a superheroes-team and changed a bit of their background.

Dylan is the leader, though not always unquestioned. He founded the team after he defeated two villains named Locke and Stocke along with Janie, Alana and Aidan and saw they worked well together.
He is a soft nature who wants to protect everyone and do justice.
He is able to control water which manifests in a blade in his hand.

After I drew a second "Ultimate Saint Fighters"-picture and mentioned that it was Jerome who brought Dylan into founding a team, I thought I might mention it here, too
If Jerome never asked Dylan, he would have never thought of forming a team after that.

Alana is able to shoot blinding lights from her hands which are also able to burn objects.
She takes some things a bit too lightly, but all in all, she´s a reliable member of the team. Janie´s behaviour often makes her mad.
She has a crush on both Dylan and Aidan which may cause problems for the team´s spirit.

Aidan controls fire and is also a skilled fighter. He used claws as weapons, a fact that annoyed Dylan.
He always questions Dylan´s leadership for several reasons: First, he is older and more experienced in battle (he was a soldier but got expelled because he had some serious fight with someone in the higher ranks). Second: He knows Gert or Tjiminde could be better leaders because of their experience. Third: He simply doesn´t like Dylan. Or at least he says so

Gert´s appearence is the result of an accident in his laboraty. He worked as a tactician and a scientist for the Canadian Forces when it happened. Afraid, he left and hid. After several weeks living in the shadows, he became witness of a tried murder and wanted to help. He accidently killed the man when he just wanted to stop him. The victim fled and told the police about the "monster". He was hunted and eventualy ran into the Saint Fighters who first fought against him. But Dylan stopped them after someone in the watching crowd called Gert´s name and he reacted. It was Gert´s brother who followed every news and now found him. Gert was arrested, but got free since the victim who told the police about him made sure he was protecting her and the death of the guy happened not on purpose.
From that day on, Gert is the team´s tactician. He discovered that he owns super-human strength and endurance and that he is nearly invulnerable.

Jonathan is a kid from the streets, with arabian background, who first robbed Janie, then was found to own the ability to call spirits from another dimension who he calls Jinns. The first he called was Tjiminde Artz.
She was the one who ordered him, who was supposed to be HER master, to follow the team and do good.
He later fell in love with Janie, who ignores him.

Tjiminde Artz, who is respectlessly called "Ninja Granny" by Jonathan, can create energy bolts and lightning and a strong fighter. As a Jinn, she is immortal, but she was a human being once. A sorceress, so she told, cursed her hundreds of years ago. Tjiminde sees herself as a teacher of the team and gives strict orders sometimes.

Janie can create anything from a soft air to a hurricane which makes her a powerful member of the team. But she has some troubles with the others, caused mainly by her childish and arrogant behaviour. She loves luxury and shiny things and never leaves her room without make-up.


I was inspired by DC´s series "Legionnaires" (or "Legion of Superheroes"), especially by their costumes which match the colorful costumes of the Saint Fighters well.
For Gert, I thought of "Brainiac Five" ("Legionnaires") who has green skin and a lilac suit, and of "Wolverine" (the stripes in Gert´s costume are a hommage to Wolvie´s costume )
Janie is built after the typical Hip-Hop-girlies and a bit inspired from Marvel´s "Jubilee" ("X-Men"), whom she has her coolness from.
I gave Aidan four claws instead of three because I wanted him to be even more effective The claws are NO part of him; they are weapons he CAN wear.
All of them (except for Gert and Tjiminde) are born with their powers, like mutants.
Dylan/Darrel, Aidan, Alana, Jonathan and Janie formed the original Soul Fighter team, as far as I know. Gert is originally Dylan´s guardian, but I wanted to add him here
